Volunteer at Summer Adventure

Are you a student entering 8th-12th grade in August 2026? If so, apply to become a Summer Adventure volunteer!​

 

***Our guidelines for selecting student volunteers have changed for 2026.***

 

We are seeking volunteers entering grades 8 through 12 as of the 2026-2027 school year, and who can commit to working all 24 days of the program. Volunteer positions are limited and are contingent upon program enrollment.​

​

Selected volunteers will need to attend a mandatory Volunteer Orientation on Thursday, June 18 at 11am at Roosevelt.

Volunteer Code of Conduct

All selected Summer Adventure volunteers will need to sign the Volunteer Code of Conduct:

​

  • Summer Adventure volunteers are expected to:

  • Be on time and prepared

  • Arrive between 8:15-8:25am

  • Sign-in each day and wear a volunteer badge

  • Be positive, cooperative and play/interact with children during recesses and breaks

  • Treat everyone with consideration and respect

  • Remain on campus until your volunteer day ends

  • Bring snacks/water to maintain your energy level throughout the morning

  • Keep your language and tone respectful and appropriate

  • Dress according to the SMMUSD dress code guidelines – no crop tops

  • Ask an adult for assistance when needed

  • Keep cell phones turned off – not seen or heard during your time on campus

  • Leave electronic devices, such as laptops, iPods, MP3s, etc., at home

  • Refrain from any public displays of affection while on campus
